The truck runs fine on the back tank, but when you switch to the front it stalls out. When you try to restart it does not sound like it was not getting any gas. I replaced the switch and now it sounds like it wants to start but will not. Is there a silenoid or valve that controls it and if so where is it located? Or is it a bad fuel pump and is there any way to test if the pump is bad.

Thanks in advanced for any ideas or sugestions.

pretty sure that there is a pump in each tank and the switch simply send power to one or the other tank.  I had the plug on the top of my front tank come loose and it acted like the pump was bad.  Good luck.  also post up on www.ford-truck.com lots of good ford info there.
