Hey guys,  I'm getting ready to do an SAS on my '91 4Runner, and I have the 3.0L.  I have read a couple of writeups of guys who did the same swap and kept their 3.0, but they had to take the 3.0 oil pan off and cut out a section and weld in a custom bent piece to clear the differential and tie rod and all that stuff when the passenger side is stuffed.  I think I've also heard of someone swapping in the T100 oil pan with the rear sump like you can do to the 3.4L.  Is this possible with the 3.0L (bolt it straight up?)?  It would make the whole sas a little easier.

does anyone have any info on the oil pan swap?  I don't want to go put the axle in and then flex it and put a major dent in the oil pan.  I want to get it right the first time. :dunno:

You need a 2wd 3.0L T100 oil pan and pick tube. You may also want to get the windage tray.  You don't want to 2wd 3.4 T100  pan or pickup tube. The pan will fit but the pick tube will not bolt to the main bearing cradle.

I bought my from a yard I found on the web. They did not have the pick up tube so I bought that from Toyota. Toyota is general stupid and you need the Vin # for them to get it right, Becareful to make sure you get the right part. They first sent me the 3.4 T100 sump then we got it right. The 4wd windage tray will need to have a hole cut into it for 1 of the 2wd sump braces. I had to cut trim the tray fro the 2nd braces too. I tried to get the tray from Toyota but after 3 tries( they kept sending the 3.4 tray)  I was done and modified my stock tray. I looked around to find a T100 Vin# to use but I had no luck. I do have some Toyota part #'s for the parts but I would double check before you order.

here are the part numbers and what i paid 2 years ago at toyota

Oil Pan $125
12101-65030
Plate (windage tray/baffle) $30
12122-62040
Strainer (pickup tube) $30
15104-62060
Gasket (for pickup tube) $2-3
15147-62020
Dipstick $15
15301-62060
Guide Tube $20
11452-62060
Guide Tube Union $5
9040510033

i ended up only using the T-100 2wd pan, strainer, baffle plate, and strainer gasket

the one link above on pirates tells a lot about it all.  I ended up not chaning the dipstick because once i had the old one out and compared it to the new one the fill range was about the same (+/- 1/8"). unfortanely i didn't check this until i pulled the union.  man that sucks to get it back in.

hope this helps.
