transmission id by casting numbers

where can i link to or FAQ`s about transmission type by the id# my# is 50511053 ????is this a g58 or w56/58 . I must say there is so much info out there but i have not located this anywhere !Thanks and keep up the great work

look at the id plate on the inside of the door or under the hood depending on your truck, it will be "trans code"  W56A-D  or G58  etc

the serial number tells what day it was made, and where at
