A couple weber questions...
« on: Jan 31, 2009, 08:45:53 AM »
#1. I was just curious exactly what does the secondary idle jet do? When I change it, I dont really notice that anything changes much.
#2. I've swapped my jets several times now and got a can get it to run good and all. But when I lean it out, I get better performance, but a little bit of a miss on idle. I have to turn the idle mixture out likealmost 4 turns. Or I can put a richer idle jet in and it will idle good but I lose  performance and becomes very sensitive to altitude. Even with a 60 idle jet I still have to turn out the mixture screw about 2.5 turns. I just can't seem to find a good balance. Any thoughts?

right now i have 130/200 primaries, 135/190 secondary jet in it. and 60idle 50 secondary idle. oh yeah, this is on a 1979 20r.

try 130/180 on the primaries  and 50 on both idle jets

and 150/200  on the secondary

Im at about 4200ft...Ok, I swapped the air jet to 180. drives good. but with the 50 idle jet. I have to turn the mixture screw out about 4 turns. It does have a little more power. However it does have a little  bit of a miss when idling. It does idle better with the richer jet. But I lose a little power. Seems to be a give or take deal.
