Decent price for a rolled 87 turbo 4x4 5 spd truck
« on: Sep 13, 2004, 08:14:08 PM »
Approximate going rate for a running  87 turbo 4x4 pickup.  Rolled and running with the r151 and tcase.  Not much salvagable other than eninge, trans and tcase.  He wants 800.00 for it.  What do you guys think?

Hows the rear axle? Stronger third and wider, gotta add that into the equation. I've seen tranny and case go for $700 a few times. $800 is actually pretty fair if you have a place to dump the trashed body.

other wise you have to pay to get rid of it

the third , the axle housing, the engine, with turbo, the transmission and transfer case.

doesn't sound like a bad deal to me at 800.00 depending on how many miles it has on it.

but I would offer him 500 for it see what he says the worst he can say is no.

ask him to meet you half way if he won't go for it 650 wouldn't be a bad price for it
too much spent to go slow
too much spent to stay low
too much spent on the go
but it's fun you know

Yes the wide rear is a plus, but I already have one in my rig.  I could sell that pretty easy.  The motor had a lot of sludge built up inside of the oil cap.  There was like 170,000 on the engine.  Are the turbos even worth the exra effort or is it just eye candy?  I want to swap efi into my pickup (4runner already has it) and have another wrecked truck just sitting there that I need to pull the efi crap off and start swapping.  Oh yeah-I have a friend that has celica efi, but we found out last night that none of the three plugs that run into the computer will fit.  Any suggestions?  Also, I am going to pull my computer and install his to test it.  They are both 85 4runners so everything should interchange??  I've never done that before and just want to be careful!  Thanks for the input!

If theres nothing else usable but drivetrain then use that in your favor to get the price down as in your going to have to deal with scrapping the carcass. Mr4x42u bought an 87 turbo truck off here a while back for I think $1200 that was complete minus axles. just a comparison
