I currently have a 2000 Taco 3RZ 2.7L  with BFG M/Ts   in the stock tire size of 31" On slight inclines on the highways the pedal is all the way to the floor in 4th gear (forget about 5th) RPMs are about 2500  . Reading different literature on the net it says my truck has 4.10 gears and they are good for up to 32" tires. A full tune up was done I used all factory Toyota parts, I took it to a shop to have a compression test done and to see if there is any leaks in the vacuum system they say everything is in factory operating specs. Experienced Toyota mechs please help

Is this a Japanese vehicle thing this is my 3rd Japanese vehicle and it is doing the same thing my others did sucks on the highway fun to drive on back country roads.

LOL!! The sad and scary thing is I am not towing or hauling anything the truck's bed is completely empty and stock.  Yes they e-brake is off to  I pulled the rear wheels to see if the e-brake got stuck, also checked the fronts to see if they were stuck, they are both operating fine changed all the trucks running gear fluids double checked the sparkplugs they are working fine. Belts are tight air cleaner is clean and free from debris. I even changed the fuel filter and nothing it is still acting the same. Only thing I can think of is if the injectors or clogged unless there is something major wrong with the internals of the engine.  ??? any one have any other suggestions I could have forgot about? :crossed:  :turtle:

Marlin

Remove the air flow sensor, spray it with brake clean and lightly blow dry it with compressed air.

Also you may have tight valves. I have already replaced burned valves on the 2.7's, because there was no valve lash.

IT IS 12:45 PM ON THE EAST I WILL BE GOING TO THE PART STORE AS SOON AS I AM DONE WITH THIS POST AND WILL GET BACK TO YOU GUYS LATER AFTER IT I AM FINISHED.  HOPEFULLY THAT IS THE PROBLEM AND IT WILL IDLE LIKE IT SHOULD AND HAVE THE SAME POWER WHEN I TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE

Dark Chaos

O.K. GUYS CHECK THIS OUT IS THE THROTTLE CABLE SUPPOSED TO BE LOOSE WERE IT IS BOWING ABOVE THE THROTTLE BODY?

BigMike

You want to have zero tension on the cable when the throttle is closed, and you want to have less than about 1/16" slack between fully closed and 1 degree open

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!! I HAVE POWER AGAIN!!!!!! I took all of your advice I cleaned the Mass Airflow sensor that was so bad that the sensors looked like caterpillars had made a home in my trucks M.A.S. they were that fuzzy, I do not know how it was working to begin with ???. I used CRC electronics cleaner it took a while then finally showed three little sensors. I also cleaned the throttle body using CRC throttle body cleaner the throttle body was no better, remember in my last post the throttle cable was really loose that was the problem it was so dirty that it was sticking open quite a bit, I wish I had a camera to show you how dirty it was but to say the lease My idle is good even in 4L it used to speed up the drop back down not no more smooth and steady. I HAVE POWER I EVEN HAVE A 5TH GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY!!!! I would like to thank everyone with your posts they all helped me out .
