dual ultimate cross member question
« on: Jan 11, 2009, 04:59:28 PM »
OK FROR has a nice design for a crossmember but I know of a couple that have broken or cracked and well I dont need that

BUDBUILT has a great crossmember/skid plate design but will it work with the rotated adapter that I now have under the Runner

I like the skidplate and crossmember design but who makes them for the MCO7R10, whats a guy to do  :dunno:

where can I find what I want... post up those links or pictures of what you did

Could you cut the Bud cross-member around the last mount and rotate it?

you can use the bud built. but you will only be able to use one of the t-case mounts. how about the 4x innovations x member. looks like it would work. havent really heard anything about it though

What about using a budbuilt style, but make a 10 degree piece which inserts between the crossmember and cases  :dunno:

that is what fordh8r did, IIRC. or you can cut and splice with the smoke wrench. ANY crossmember no matter what brand will be the same if it is that style.

Thanks for remembering my build Rex.  I did, however, scratch-build the whole x-member on mine. I used the motor mount mounting points from two stock x-members and then welded them to my own plate design with the added angle for the rotated case.  The pics are in my build thread linked in my sig line.

Its a sturdy mount. If you will be using the stock e-brake, you will need to bend the arm up a little so it does not hit the rear arm on the cross member.
