A better choice is a twin stick style forward shifting W56 and t-case from a 90-95 runner, or 89-95 p/up. The handles would only be 1/2" rearward -- Marlin
***Threadjacking in progress***Are the forward shift G52 transfer cases and forward shift W56 cases the same? I'd like to find a forward shift W56 and swap my G52 out.
Unfortunately, the newer W56 shift rods are 1/2" shorter and must be changed as required.I feel the W56 is 40-50% stronger than the early G 52 trans.
The 85-91 transmission family could be called the first design and was built very straight forward.Begining in '92, Aisin Seiko, [the manufacture], released a new, streamlined, second design.Shift shaft bushings, Reverse syncrow brake, Oil baffle, Internal magnets, Bearing and Syncrow improvements, ect.
