22r Carbed Computer Controls
« on: Dec 05, 2008, 09:17:36 AM »
I'm new to toyotas, new to forums and new to Marilin. My question is how much and what all does the computer in an 84 Carbed 22r control? The O2 sensor located under the drivers side seat isn't hooked up, but don't recieve a "check engine" message and engine seems to run fine except for some hesitation when the throttle is mashed. Also, I know isn't ideal, but will 33s and 4:10s work? Thanks for any help.

unless you live in Cali you dont need it

well maybe CO  :dunno:

it has nothing to do with the running of the engine, only emissions

the thing under the drivers seat is just a converter temp sensor, and you don't need it. It won't throw a check engine because it isn't a true computer controlled system. The emissions computer can't do a whole lot, I think it only powers the Idle Stop Solenoid and a couple evap valves.  Hesitation when you mash the throttle is not being caused by either of those.
