HELP! 4runner wont start

today as i was pulling out of the parking lot my 85 4runner with a 22RE died. went to diagnose and found it is not getting any spark due to blowing a fuse, the bottom left one on the fuse block.

i am missing the cover to my fuse block and do not know what this is for. any idea what that fuse is for and what would cause it?

15 amp EFI fuse.

now you need to figure out why your efi fuse blew....... a short somewhere

Clean the grounds 1st to look at if it blows again.

well its stuck at school for now but im gonna try to get to it tomarrow and check the grounds

well found some little piece that was not grounded down near the coil got that tightened down and put new fuse in. it cranked ran for a while but whenever i would put it in drive it blows the fuse. same thing every time. will run and even run in reverse til i put it in drive and instantly blows the fuse.

any ideas guys?

huh
unhook the linkage underneth
and try it in drive on the trans
and park on the shifter
if it still does it it must have to do with the electrical in the linkage.

My 91 did the same deal it was a fraied injector wire.... Its weird it only does is in drive?  Ide drive it home backwards... haha

will check into that. i did have to do some repairs on my injector wires. someone had cu them and put them back together with wire nuts

wire nuts........ Now thats sweet!!! Its somthing to try tho mine would just blow at random. Its weird that in blows backing up? Keep posted on whats wrong with it

found out what it was. some wire on the main wire harness for the EFI got cut by a hose clamp and was grounding out. just glad to have it running!
