Isn't it cheating if you start with everclear?

Nah its only illegal if u sell it.. This batch was made with sweet horse feed and a few other things. I havent drank any.. it needs so be tested. Over 200 proof can make ya go blind. :yikes: Im not really sure of the temp on the still head that is a pressure guage on top. ijust threw this still together I had everything just chillin in the shop. This is when being  plumber comes in handy.

Please tell me your not using copper!

You have to have a licence to build and maintain a still in the US in any form.  That falls under the ATF.

It is legal to brew Beer and or Wine at home in a quantity of 200 gallons a year or less.

That being said, I built one back when I was in high school  :hahaha:  I just used corn syrup, yeast and warm water.
You definatly need a thermometer, and a emergency pressure relief valve.

Over 200 proof can make ya go blind.
It might even be worse than that....  200 proof = 100%.    :psss:

Not sure how to get the alcohol content higher than 100%....    :dunno:

Yeah man all I gotta say is you never know who is reading what you post on the internet, in your own interest its probably better not to post this kind of stuff. Its a known fact that police departments use sites like Myspace to nail easy targets, IE self incrimination. Honestly with things like the Patriot Act you never know who is getting paid to surf the internet and look for people breaking the law. One picture is all it takes to get a search warrant with your name and address on it. It may sound stupid and paranoid but its the truth. Not trying to be an ass or anything I would just hate to see you get in trouble with the law over something so stupid. Just my thoughts.

If you're going to run it, use fruit or good simple grains  Preferably organic or natural if you can to keep the pesticides and crud down.

Copper or any reactive metal is bad for high temp work.  Fine if you are making fuel for your car(this you can make up to 200 gallons as well, since it's not drinkable).  Doubly so if it's soldered together or treated in any way.

Loads of ways to get sick or end up with lighter fluid that you need to cut anyways.  Beer is tons more fun and easier, IMO.

Or if you're really tricky, you can use Everclear and about 2-4 weeks to make your own liquor.  Typically they cut the resulting fruit or herbal infused result with about 50% sugar by volume to get it to 60-80 proof or so. (this is how they make Limoncello for instance - very simple to make at home)
