i was over at prism and we were looking under the truck. prism noticed i had more than normal slop coming from the tcase to the driveline. he figured it was the bearing. well that bearing is deep into the case. so might it be worth my while to rebuild it while im already that far in there. and is this bearing a pain to do?

Yeah, rebuild it with a set of 4:7 gears from marlin.

Cake fix, I have a couple cases torn down in the shop now.  Neither of the rear output shaft bearings would be bad to get at, but if the problem is the inner one (unlikely) then yes rebuild it all.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Have you checked your flange nut?  When they get loose they can make it slop too.
