what year was the big change?

does anyone know the big change in wiring in the 1st gen runners? was it from 86 to 87 or from 87 to 88?

i think it was mid 88 but not 100percent sure btw for which motor 4cyl or v6 cause my v6 is from late 87
88 4runner 2016 5.3 auto atlas 2 on tons and tons of fun
