1981 2wd Value

  I was wondering what you guys think the value of a 1981 2wd pickup is?  I am in South Dakota (well Minnesota actually), so these are alot harder to come by here, especially with how good of shape the body is.  I suppose the body is about average for you guys from the west.  I have pics but I doubt I will be able to post them.  Here is the text from the original ad:

"1981 toyota pickup that has NEVER seen snow! Still have the Nevada plates. Second owner. First was a mechanic that did a rebuild @ 110K. Now @ 215K, engine is weak, third cyl very weak. Body is great, new brakes, new drums, new rotors, pads, tie rod ends, steering stabilizer, reasonable rubber. This truck is drivable, but will need engine work or engine replacement. 22r is the motor type. 5 speed/od. 1250.00 FIRM."

Basically If I get this I am taking the freshly built 22r out of my '84 and parting that out and making this into my little DD econo runner.  If I get it will probably eventually be bagged and sitting on 17's.  Her Name is Frank keeps popping up in the back of my mind as inspiration, althought I probalby would not go as extreme.  So do you guys think this truck would be worth it?  Keep in mind that I am not in California, so that really changes things as far as how much a good body is worth.  Thanks for any responses in advance.

out here, that would probably go for around the same price figuring its got a bad motor, but if you already have a motor, then thats not too bad of a deal. when my 2wd got toalled out, i got $2k for it

I talked to the owner and he said the engine is tired, but it doesn't knock or anything.  He said it will drive just fine going 55, so I figure it at least has to be good as a core for when I sell the rest of my parts.  It is also supposed to have some aftermarket work dont to the carb (bigger jets & such), but he wasn't sure / didn't know what he was talking about.  Maybe if I am lucky is has an aftermarket carb...
