I have a 89 single cab V6 that i'm wanting to build.  I've posted about it before, but since then I have finally graduated college!!!  Well I'm now wanting to fix it up and have it as a trail rig.  The truck is in need of a new hood, fender, and a few small things right now due to the fact I wrecked it!!!  But those are minor things.  I want to run 37's on it but i'm really unsure how it will hold up.  Here are my plans as of right now.

1st---Fix it.
2nd---SAS.

my question is then what???  Prioritys first, 4x4er on a budget here!

Your Question is kinda vague.  with 37's and a SAS I would put a locker in the rear and go wheeling it'll hold up just fine.

Well I meant things like, should I get the crawler box, or maybe a high pinion front.  change the gears in the tranny.

Sounds like you have a good idea what you want.  Do you want to be able to do some daily driving with it?   Dual cases, 5.29 diff gears, Lockers, and a high pinion would be nice.   Get Longs for the front if you crawl on rocks alot.  It gets expensive fast.   I hope this helps a little  :)

Not a daily driver but the trails I ride at are about 20 miles away and would like to be able to drive there most weekends during the summer.  Here are my initial plans, like i said, i want to run 36's or 37's.

1st SAS and marlin rear suspension
2nd 5.29 High pinion w/detroit
3rd longfields
4th rear 5.29's and a lock right with chromally's
5th 4cyl 4.70 crawl box, should i go duals

is the tranny gear swap worth the money??  Or will it be fine like it is??  I was thinking about going with a lighter 37 such as a BFG or Toyo, just how well will the drivetrain hold up?

I'd really like further input.  Went to Tellico recently and Grey Rock last weekend and Jeeps outnumber everything 10 to 1.  Since I've got this truck in pretty good running order, I wanna build it into a good lil trail truck.  Always been a yota man anyway.
