Got a few questions.

1) Why would you put dual cases in a mud truck?
2) When money permits? Are you trying to do this on a tight budget?
3) Are you building this truck to specifically do mud only?

Thumper

Ok here goes no i dont plan on rolling much and no its not just a mud truck.
I will build this up a lil bit at a time its my back burner project that when i get money saved for what i want or get parts ill put them on a lil at a time till its done.
Its going too be a mud rock trail whatever i want too drive it on truck thats why i want the crawlers on it.
It will do good rockcrawling because of all the low sprung weight of the axles and tires heck the axles weight about 600 apeace so that is good low center of gravity weight, that will be good for rock crawling.
I plan on doing this right no rigging of parts or hacking it together.
Thanks for comments

OK guys got the runner its an 1984 with power windows sunroof tachdash climoter However u spell, power steering and allthe bells and wistles
Now the bad part she has lots of rust n the fender wells so no big toy out of this one body is way too far gone :rivers:
So i am eather gonna part it out or wheel it till i get tired of it and part it out then.
cant decide yet.
Ill post pics tomarrow in the day light.

Finally got some pics up so what do you think should i just part it out or cut the rust out of the body and wheel it with my lift and tires and gears and what not n it. :dunno:
Motor runs but is out of time and has a slight knocking slapping noise but its just the timing chain its missing a guide on the drivers side and is really loose i think it jumped time because u can advance the timeing toothe max and it just runs kinda smooth but if u retard it any at all it sputters and coughs and dies. :headscratch:
So eather its a tooth out or the chain jumped. ive heard of a few that did this but has anyone scene this happen or is it even possible without bending valves? :help:
Tell me what u think i think its worth the 300 i payed for it.

Sawzall the fenders & it will look pretty good. Not bad for 300.

Im with prism, sawzall the hell out of it run maybe 3" of lift and 35's
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Thumper

Ya i was thinking about the same thing you guys are if i can get the motor too run ill prob do that.
Ive got some springs laying around i can use for the lift and i was thinking of eather pulling my 5.29's out of my truck and putting them in the runner and putting my super birfields in it and swaping my 35 boggers too it or should i just leave it 4.10's (hopefully they are 4.10's or ill be in whites 3.90 club) LOL :hammer: , and just run the set of 33 bfg all terrains and have 2 trucks too play with instead of one.
What do u think?
And the only problem about sawzalling the fenders is in the rear when u cut up into the fender u go inside the body :-\\ which then all u have is the inside body panels left for fenders and too keep the mud out. I will prob just end up wheeling it for a while then parting it out because i could make quite abit selling the 5speed and transfercase a guy said if i want too sell it he would pay 750 for it, then if i sell the 84-85 front and rear axles i could make even more and buy my rockwells for my big project
I plan on saving the frame and using it for my big toy but everything else is gota go then ill find a different runner body too use on my frame.
Thanks for the input guys keep it comeing.

That looks just like mine did...hell, even if you don't want to weld in replacement inner fenders you can rivet some in there...I happen to like the extra air flow and I can really hear the boggers through the open fenders!!!

Hey guys started working on the runner tonight!
so far ive swapped my 35's over too it and cut the fenders :_order: :flamer: ill try and take some pics tomarrow.
The fenders look werid becasue they are hacked alot but the tires dont rub without any lift
well they rub in the front on the firewall turning really hard but when i put my springs on it will move the axel forwards 1 inch and they are 5 inch superlift packs. im useing my stock rear springs out of my truck because they have alot of arch and i think have an add a leaf in them becuase they sit up pretty high, i started takeing them off tonight but the bolts are rusted bad :smack: so i soaked them in wd-40 and let em sit while i choped on the fenders, ill start again on it tomarrow and see how far i get.
Welp thats all for now ill try and take pics tomarrow of the work so far.
