I guess I can look up the yellow pages and call up those metal supply shops in town but was wondering where does everyone here got their steel from plus did you have positive customer service experience with the shops here in town?

I called up Vally Iron today. They don't carry DOM, just regular mild round tubing. I was quoted at
$3.60/ft on 1-3/4" x 120 round tubing. Levvi carry pipes only. I guess I can go with the 1-3/4" for my exo -cage.
Like everyone here would agree...it's more important to focus on the design and the welds themselves rather than on the fancy materials.

its not that its a "fancy materil. its that its a safe material

Why would u build a rock crawler cage out of dom, When its just going to get smashed up. If your building a 100K prerunner..... Then yeah but for a littler toyota ya dont need the dom. Just my :twocents: Its ur money do what ya want but i have taken some pretty nasty tumbles with hrew around me and im still kickin.

You have to have an account but if you or you and some buddies buy enough it's well worth it.

Give them a call and talk to them.

I totally agree with you but my point I was trying to make was it's more critical with the way how the design layout plus with the welding than the material itself.
