registering my truck?

well i just got my truck running good and shes read to go to the rubicon this weekend.  The only thing is is that i have to pay registration and i have to smog my truck and insure it.  I dont have time to smog it.  Can i just get a temporary pass so that i could drive it for 3 days.  if so what can i do to get it goin. i wanna drive it for 3days on the street just to get to the trail and back.

yes you can get a moving permit. dmv gave me a 60 day permit until i smogged it just ask them for it

you can get one of those temporary 30 day registration slips.
just start all the paperwork and get one of those.
tell them you need one to drive it to shops for repair work for smog.
