how do I get the middle part out of the upper control arm?? I took off one of the nuts but now the other one will rotate the assembly. I don't want to break anything but want to replace the upper control arm bushings. thanks!

I have never done it but here is the section of the FSM that shows how to do it.

Here is a link for the complete FSM, it is for a 93 pickup.

You may want to copy to a disc, you never know when it will go away.

I have burned my spring/shackle bushings out of one of my trucks before. Its a last resort, and requires a lot of cleaning to get the new bushings to go in, especially if they are poly. I am not sure about the upper control arm bushings though... I have never replaced those before.

there is a local shop that will do this for 35$ an arm. I believe that they will burn it out. is it worth the money and what do you guys think about poly bushings. I took the arms to this shop and they said that I don't need to replace them. But since I am trying to get rid of this certian noise ( the ball joint looked suspecious on dis-assembly) and this was one of my items to replace. Now that I have it off I figure that I might as well replace it right?? thanks
