i just installed an axle from a 4x4 90's truck on my old 79. what year e brake cable should i use. i believe the old cable is too short. 86 came out with the wider axle and that cable style was used until 88. then in 89 it was changed again and remained the same until 95. should i use 86 to 88 or 89 to 95?

most people just find a way to lengthen their stocker... i have seen clevis pins and clips used for this

see if you can find a pic of it done on fordh8r's truck

i wasn't able to find the right thread but i used some 5/16 bolts with nylock nuts and made an extension. i was going to try something fancier but this set up is pretty strong. would probably brake the cable first, if i ripped on it to hard..
