A good manual to bolt up to my 4.3l to Toy duels

anyone have advice on a manual trans with a granny gear that would be good to run with my 4.3l vortec? I want one with granny 1st. I currently have a 4l60e goin to duel toyotas and hate the electronic valve body.....

If you're dead set on a full on granny 1st, you can't beat a nv4500 5 speed.  If you want to stay toy you'll wanna get an r151 from a turbo 4wd toy and have marlin rebuild it with the lower 1st gear, but trying to find one is getting harder and the wait for marlin to rebuild it could be lengthy.

or use a w56 C or D which are about the same in strength, 3.93 first gear but with duals you multiply in the cases.

i have a 700r4 now but i ran the w56 for years with no issues, still have the bellhousing if you want it

don't know if you can get them stil but marlin ues to sell a 5.15 frist gear set for the r151. give marlinn a call, gool luck

sorry to high jack but i was thinking of putting a small block chevy in my truck i have the r150, im not worried about gears but will it hold up well? i dont want to spend a lot of money, i already have the motor.

If I was doing a chevy swap into my 4runner I would go with a SM465. I even have one in a dually I could sell you. $3K for the tranny and I will throw the truck in free.

According to UPS I will be receiving my gaskets and jets tomorrow morning. We will see if I can actually succeed at something then  I am actually not a very good mechanic at all.

do what i did i used a 883.0v6 tranny and had marlin put a lower first gear in
