Kind of a random question, but I haven't been out to Loon Lake in a few years so I thought I would ask.

I have camped along Loon Lake right before the dam on the right hand side a few times. I was told campers are no longer allowed to drive out to their camp sites in their vehicles anymore. They must park their vehicles on the gravel road and hoof their camping gear in. Is this true?

There was some choice camping spots that were vehicle accessible in that area, but hoofing camping gear would. Please let me know.

there is the circle area that is paved that you can drive on by the bathrooms.  but no trucks are alowed on the dirt, so you have to carry your gear to the dirt camp spots.

The entire Eldorado NF has a policy of parking within a reasonable distance from roads. They are going off the National policy as dictated by the FS. EVERY NF is expected to comply. Times are not what they used to be anywhere.
