Threat to Fry Mountain in Johnson Valley
« on: Jul 06, 2008, 06:20:46 PM »
If it's not one group it's another first the Marines want to take the Hammer's away from us now they want to and probably already have taken a part of Fry Mountain. Fry Mountain is west of Means and east of Cougar Buttes off of Bessemer Mine Rd. at Soggy Dry Lake. It seems that a wind mill farm is already set to take a portion of the mountain. Currently it will not affect the established trails but who knows what's in store for the future. I remember when they started putting in the farms here by Palm Springs, it wasn't too bad but now they are everywhere by the I-10 and now SR 62 they are everywhere along the corridor. What that means to me is they will slowly consume the entire area.

Here's a link to my clubs discussion on the subject, it also includes the entire JV issue including the Hammer's....
