Does anyone know what would happen to the strength of a birfield if someone were to weld on it?  My friends truck broke all 4 triniun bearings and now his birfields have scrapes and gashes in them.  Could he weld over the scrapes and then grind them down?  Would they still be as strong as before?

Damn that impressive!  Ive broken the lowers before but never the uppers.  I wouldnt worry about welding on them, it would weaken the tempering of the birf.  Id just file down the enges of the scrapes and call it good, they shoud be fine that way.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

He didn't know how he did it either.  It was on the rubicon though.   He decided to go full size with a 44 and 60.  I mean full size.  They stick out so far.  We already put the 60 under it.

do you have any carnage pics ? I didn't think that was possible, but then again I broke a rear axle with a 4 banger  :dunno:

No pics as it wasn't my truck.  Luckily he didn't have to drive it home.  He got it towed by a friend.  but both nuckles moved almost 6 inches without moving the steering sheel.  that much play.
