This is a dumb question right?? lol, but am getting an r151f soon, and wondering if i go with two top shift t-cases, would i have to buy 4 23 spline outputs/inputs ??

No, only two, or one 23-spline 2.28:1 input for the reduction box and a 23-spline gear set for the rear case if you are going to gear it.  The output doesn't care what spline the trans is.

ok thanks, but am getting it without the t-case, so i would have to buy two 23 spline inputs for the r151f to be happy/tough right?

Or you could just buy a 23 spline input for the front reduction box, and a 21 spline dual case adapter and leave the rear case 21 spline.   It's somewhat odd, kind of uncommon to run the stronger 23 spline in front and 21 spline in the rear but it is possible.

Doof

do you have to run a 23 spline if you gear your :pokinit: with 4.7's and cases?

REG535

thats what am trying to figure out, ya i could do that Earl, am hoping to run the 5.7:1 aa gears

4.7 gears come in both 21 and 23 spline versions.  Usually, if you are buying a 4.7 gear set and a dual case adapter at the same time you would order the 23 spline stuff as it is stronger.

Buying both the gears and the dual case adapter is sometimes too expensive for some people.  In that case people buy a 21-spline dual case adapter to run two stock geared cases.  Then when they can afford it they would buy 4.7 gears in 21-spline since that would match the dual case adapter they already have.

So, if you are getting a turbo trans, and installing dual cases with gears in the rear case all at the same time you would need one 23-spline 2.28 input for the front case to go into your turbo trans, a 23 spline dual case adapter, and a 23 spline gear set.
