So ive decided I going to keep it, after trying to sell it for so long. This is going to be a long project. Arent they all?

Plans: Weld rear end, bob and dove tail rear, dove tail front, rid of rust in back of cab, Stick back on my 33x15.50" TSL SX's, re-hang exhaust, install clutch, get a passenger door, bucket seats, maybe some new leafs, custom bumpers, fix hole in dash with aluminum, sticker it, maybe a exo (If I can find a bender to use) any other ideas?

Far future plans: Marlin 4" kit FR and RR, 35" SX's, Duals with stock gears.

Input? Ideas?

Also is there a write up on dovetailing?

i would start out with a bumper for the front,  dual cases, then gears,  its kinda silly  to bob and  dovetail a truck with 1 tcase  and  no lockers

besides the fact  it just WRONG

is this gonna be a daily driver like you said you wanted??

Im cutting that "thing" off the front ASAP, I just need to figure out where I want to go with the bumper. Well, after the clutch.

No DD for me. Still looking for that one Extra cab.

as clean as that bed looks i would sell it  and  build a flatbed,  if your gonna go offroad only,  or at least  a mostly off road

yeah but some people dont have all the $$ to dump into it so they do things on the cheap for fun.
like bob and dovetail would cost like $20 bucks in cut off wheels, gas, and wire.
when a dual adapter cost like 370 gears are pretty spendy too. :twocents:

Old bald Yokohama M/T's, the ones they dont make anymore. It looks so bad ass now. Got the flywheel. $37.40 from napa (resurface). Got everything almost back in, just gotta bolt up crossmemeber/trans/transfercase. The shifter is really worn out, really bad. haha.

15.50_STock

Ill have to snap pictures of the what used to be the clutch. Nothing left.

jimbo74

the shifter is worn out? or your transmission is worn out? you might try to change out the shift seat bushings.... if that doesnt help, your transmission is jacked.....

Its the rubber pieces where the shift lever sits, trans is good, pulled apart for inspection didnt have any wear! Wow. 212k miles, dam good. Sad thing is I cant afford $20 for marlin new rubber piece(s).

So the clutch is in, 80% back together. Started right up. Ill have to snap some new pictures. Im going to get a new starter tomorrow. $68 from autozone+life time warrenty. With a $20 core, good deal? I think im going to sell it, running with a new clutch and starter.
