I think I'm set for some of my best MPG yet.  Did a trip to VV and back yesterday, drove around a bit, and drove around some today.  I'm still at a little less than 1/3 a tank, and have 403 on the trip :gap:  usually am sitting at about 360-370 at this point.  I'm betting I can pull another 70 miles at least outta this tank before the fuel light comes on (3 gal or so left)

ok, I went from my (lately) normal mpg of 14ish up to 17.02 with this fill up I did today. I am happy with a 3 mpg increase, although it still is not as high as it used to be (19). The truck got parked today in preperation of engine swap, so i will not have any new mpg numbers for like another month to month and a half.

Just put in my 4.88 in the rear of my 85' 22RE Xtra cab on 33's. The last 2 tanks of gas I got 20.1 and 19.7 mpg. I drive my truck more than my CTS-V because it is not only better on gas, it takes 87 octane. I love my Toyota.....

Last set of tanks I ran through the truck netted 5.996 mpg.  Not bad at all considering I haven't changed my driving style in any way shape or form....  Just put new drive tires on the front axle and hammered down.

Oh and I re figured the fuel cost with the better mileage and fuel is costing less than $.80 per gallon...  Like I've said, if a trucker is whining about fuel cost he's getting hosed by his dispatch company or just lying looking for sympathy....

Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Per gallon.....   The fuel surrcharge we get is $.74 per mile.  We have a negotiated rate with CFN to pay right under $5 a gallon everywhere we go and the truck gets just under 6 mpg so we don't end up paying much for fuel in the end.

No...  The truck gets paid $1.20 a mile to haul cheese south.  On top of that we get a $.74 per mile surrcharge added on top of that to cover the cost of fuel.  So if you figure $.74X6mpg=$4.44 per gallon that THEY pay US to drive their load.  So in the end we actually pay about $.55 per gallon.... Crap when I figured that origionally I worked the math at $5.25 per gallon... We actually pay $4.99 everywhere we go so its cheap.

2004 subaru forester XT 5spd.  I averaged 23.9 mpg over 4 fillups.  70 miles a day in some of the most hateful conditions driving into washington DC to work.  Not too bad i don't think.  CTENG, it seems that you can't really trick these foresters into good fuel economy by driving with a raw egg on the gas pedal, but it's debatable.  Check out www.subaruforester.org ...they have a few mpg threads.  I read an article or something about using a heavier throttle and shorter shifts for up to 20% increase in mpg...maybe quickly overcoming friction?  In my case, in overcoming vacuum to get to the BOOST (woo hoo) may be an added factor that saps out the mileage.
