ECT?

Guys I have a 94 4Runner 3.0 V6 4x4....I have an automatic tranny...right underneath the shifter theres a little button that says ECT you can turn it on or off...could you please tell me what its for...and how or when can I use it thanks a bunch

Don't push it while you're driving-it might be an ejection button!

I don't know what it stands for, but it just revs higher before each shift.  It lets the shift go another few hundred RPM's beyond where it would normally shift.  Just for assistance up hills and such.

when i had my 89 pickup it the ect and i swear that the motor was gonna blow!

Dosent really make a diff on mine when ever I put it on

thats whats ive noticed on the v6, but on the 22re it really over revs it, but thats it
