Like a Jeep. Yeah, spring under.

Wondering if anyone has done this or thought of it. For a 95%DD and work truck I think it would work better.
I was thinking 5in springs on a spring under = about 1~2in lift and moves the axle. That's all i really want.

What do you think? :help:

so why not just set the truck up spring over with stock toy springs

With lift Toy springs? I thought of that and since the thing has a ton of axle wrap i thought this would cure it. And if i possibly decide to go all out with the truck one day, I already have the springs.

a 5 inch spring wont lift it much more then stock ride height with a spring over

Read the original post.....  He only wants to move the axle but wouldn't mind a bit of lift....

I gave a buddy some rear 7" skycrapper springs.  He put them spring under in the front of his yj.  They work sweet and only gave him about 3" of lift.  So yea, do some measuring of the free arch on trucks with like parts (winch, cage etc) so you get a feel for the actual arch when installed and go from there.

I have seriously thought about going spring under in the back of my truck to control axle wrap but so far I don't have much to worry about.  That and finding springs that would be soft enough for the job in my application is a bit of a bear...
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Makes sense, thicker springs and a perch would probably all but eliminate a lift but it's okay. I only plan on 33's at most for some time. The big plus is good quality springs.

Only thing i can't decide on is the u-bolts and plate. Could I use a Jeep's?

which springs are you thinking about? Most of the 5 inch packs (and 4" for that matter, like marlins) are THICK.....ground clearance would definitely suffer

I haven't decided on what springs to use yet. I've been thinking of this for a while and someone posted 5in Marlin's for sale and it sparked the thought again. But in the rear I could use Ford's or Chevy's.
