« on: Apr 08, 2008, 09:22:02 AM »
i put a new cat on my 81 toy then i went to get a smog pretest, the tech said i was runningway too rich, and i needed to adjust the carb so i got the carb hooked up to the machine an it did not respond to the adjustment so i replaced my o2 sensor and its still running too rich. what else can i do before replacing the carb?

Have you tried rebuilding the carb yet?

I don't think that would work cuz they go off the physical address for the vehicle.

Did you read the whole thread?  I know running rich has been covered in there, double check it again and see what you find.  It's very hard for people on the other end of a computer to be able to give you much more than a shot in the dark when it comes to issues like this.  Good luck, I'm glad I don't have to smog where I live..... yet!

If it is a CA smog and not FED check the air injection valve, before you buy another carb.
