07 Taco lifted...rock sliders?
« on: Apr 05, 2008, 03:39:58 PM »
Hey guy's I picked up my dad's 2007 Tacoma black sand metallic quad cab lifted 3" and put on 33"s with black wheels and now am thinking of rock sliders. I'm pretty sure we have MC sliders on our FJ Cruiser and like them, but they don't seem to be available for a quad cab 07 Tacoma. Can MC make a set or know where to find a bolt on or weld on slider? It needs to serve double as a step like on the FJ Cruiser, my dad's like 56 and the truck might be a little tall for his fake hip.

BTW black on black with 15% tint looks great.

i think the 78" ones they sell would work fine for your tacoma. get under there and measure from front of your front door/fender to the rear fender well. they dont need to be quite that long. im assuming its around 80-82" so  the 78s would probably work good for you if you centered them up. if not call up marlin and see if they can make you some that are just a couple inches longer...

So I'm looking at it now, the rear bumper should be powdercoated. I don't want to run a tube bumper on this truck, it's my dad's dd. I know a powdercoater locally so I can get it done pretty cheap. The plastic on the stock bumper can be removed and re-installed can't it? It should just be held on by plastic clips underneath right? I'll probably have that done next week. Then it's on to exhaust. I was thinking possibly a Gibson exhaust system for it, but do not know. I don't want the truck to be super loud, so the Flowmaster system's out of the picture, I have a flowmaster 50 series on my 4runner and it's about right for the truck but not an American Thunder muffler.

Just have a few more bits and pieces, I am surprising my dad for his birthday and having all this done while he's out. He wanted wheels and tires and the lift, but the rest of it he doesn't know.

Having a 12 second Honda is just like coming out of the closet; You're going to surprise a bunch of people, but in the end you're still gay.
