another old school project with a small diesel? nice!!!! no other way to do it. if i thought there was a way to cheaply swap a diesel into my truck i would totally do it. nice find.

aslo is this the reason the Mammoth wont be ready for MCR? :dunno:

No, not that it isn't always a good time, but we went three years in a row and figured it was time to try some other areas.
That was before gas prices skyrocketed, now even if we wanted to we couldn't afford the diesel that far.

Well we got stuff rearranged and the Wagon is sitting in the garage. It Mammoth isn't back in yet, but I'll get a picture when they are both in there. They are very happy to see each other. LOL

5 pages of this build and they haven't even got it home yet!!

You are shocked?  The making of the mammoth is 118 pages.  If you took the bsing and chatter out it'd boil down to about 40 pages.... :hahaha:
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

True but it's Mark's fault, he works so fast that bsing is all that is left to do.

Actually the plan had always been that we were going to get one of those to build as a DD/light trail rig so we could take the dogs with us too, and sleep in it when it wasn't worth taking the LBC out.
So he figured, rather then spending the money on a beater now might as well start on what we want. Of course we were thinking he might be able to get this running with the engine it had in it.
When he found the deal on the motor so close to that we couldn't pass it up

:shake: oh well. The best laid plans and all that..it was a fun road trip  and it will be so cool in the long run! Imagine seeing the Mammoth towed by this?

of course, for mark to do all the mods necessary to fit the motor in, it'll be ready to go in like a week anyway :gap:

We spent ALL day cleaning out the garage making room. Had to move the LBC and work truck to put the trailer back and the SD 33 is still in the back of the truck. That will have to wait till next weekend to unload, still don't know where I am going to put it for now.

We got in at 3am and started working this morning at 8am. I'm beat and going to kick back.  or two

:psss: Actually, Mark has gone through over time and removed a lot of the chatter, there's still a bunch in there for sure, especially lately since we haven't be doing anything  OH  and a while back BigMike changed the # of posts per page on the threads so that actually bumped us up a couple pages  :smack:

Mark brought up another point at dinner. I was talking about how it would be cool for weekend trips cruising back roads that we can't do with the LBC and Mark said..... ROUTE 66!!
OMG!!! This would be PERFECT for a Route 66 road trip! WHAT FUN!

More pics from the trip...

The guys at Dundee were AWESOME! Not only did they go above and beyond taking more parts off the vehicle for us, they helped Mark get the engine out of the Wagon so we didn't have to haul all that weight back here only to have to scrap it here.

This is the engine that came out of it.

This is the one going in...

We had one of those International/Nissan Scouts at the shop once, that thing had some good grunt! I have been told by a former owner that those axles in the Scouts are not the best in the world.

From what we were told these are the original miles on the Scout. They said they knew the owner well and had no reason not to believe him and these guys seem worth trusting, they had no reason to lie to us. That's a  nice change.

AND THEN.... pictures from today.... The Wagon found a new home... it took a little modifying the rear wheels to get it in the garage :haha:

AND THEN... Mark had to do some fabbing on the lawn crawler to get the trailer in the backyard since our :moon: hole neighbors can't keep their nose out of our business.

He was having trouble with it getting traction in the sugar sand so I stepped up to lend a hand. It was just like being on the 'Con again. :haha:

It took a little shed carnage but we were able to squeeze it in
