I have a mile marker 2000 pound rear winch and i am trying to wire it to a switch instead of using the big controller it comes with.  i have the switch panel done already with a main power switch and an momentary on-off-on switch.  i hooked it up the same way as my front smittybuilt winch.  there are 6 prongs on back side of the switch.  i got a wiring harness for the front winch so it was easy and stupid proof to wire up.  for the 6 prongs it goes - winch in, winch out, power, main battery ground and then 2 for the switch grounds.  i have a picture but no way of getting it onto the computer.  so it all works for the front winch but i can't make it work for the rear one.  how can i hook it up?

well I've never wired a winch, but the switch should be like this:

12v in to center terminals
top or bottom out(in or out) to power the solenoids.

or, if the solenoids are triggered off of a ground, you would run the solenoid wires to the center poles, and then out to ground from there.

I've never seen a switch with poles that go to what you say; a 6 pole (Double Pole, Double Throw) has center terminals for power in and top/bottom terminals to send the power (or ground) to.

yes I suck at paint.
