Please Help - considering after market cam
« on: Mar 15, 2008, 12:40:51 PM »
Would someone please assist.  I'm building a 22R engine.  I'm considering a custom cam.  But, there are many on the market.  Does a cam actually increase horsespower?  What would be a good performance cam for street and play?

Thanks in advance,
Ernest

How did it change performance?  Are you satisfied?  Which cam did you get?  comp cams shows 4 different cams for 22R:

How's the idle?  did it improve wide range performance (low, med, high)?  did you do LCE recommended install, or did you keep stock rockers, springs, etc?:
"This Camshaft must be installed with new rocker arms. LC Engineering, Inc. will not warranty any camshaft that was not purchased together with Aluminum rocker arms. The use of Pro Valve Springs & Retainers or the Pro Camshaft Kit is required with this camshaft.
