I just saw an ad for a 1st gen Toyota 4-Runner with 37' tires and 4.10 gears. Would this thing even move. I thought mine was a bit slow with 31's

Haha I dont think you would be able to motivate that thing to get around very fast at all and I bet it burns through clutches like crazy. I gained tons of power going from 4.10s with 32s to 5.29s with 35s. The former was bad enough though so I would hate to drive that thing.

I know some board members here run/have run 4.10s with 37s, and some have even claimed they move just fine.

That was the first, and main, one that came to mind.

I'm one of them.
It moves fine, but those starts are a pregnant dog.
I usually drive around town in low.

I've done it.  Feel the same as MiniSimp.  It moves around ok.  Getting going from a complete stop brings the suck, and 5th gear is only good for downhill runs on the freeway with a tail wind.

I run 4.10s with 38.5s and it works just fine.  Could it be the V8?  :yesnod:

My old half worn out 22r struggled with 32s and the clutch really hated it.  I would cheat and use low range in town when I switched to 35s.  I can't imagine 37s from a stand still.  Ahh, the smell of clutch in the morning...
