Hey xfactor .   I see you have migrated over from ih8mud.   Lots of good tech here.  Did you ever get your truck back together?

The machine shop has the short block at the moment. I been working on other projects while the drive train is out, 3in body and drivetrain lift, tranfer case brake, and lots of paint work. My brother was down from Joliet this past weekend which left us out for a ride along. We will be at the meeting.

Sorry I know I started this thing.....my lap top bit the dust and all the usual excuses from having a state job and a newborn..............To answer some of your questions....
I live in Salem....Just north of Mt. Vernon on I-57  not to far from ya X.....
I bought a 86 Samurai that was poofed and an 83 toyota pickup that came from up near quad cities and needless to say the salt bit back......So when I wasn't looking they bred and stuff the full drive train in the samurai....I swapped in 5.29's spooled f/r high steer arms full hydro steering 35x10.50 boggers with Staun Internal Beadlocks  I used most of the RRO coil kit and got different springs and cut up the mounts and stretched the wheel base to 97" warn m8000 and my cb is junk going to get another one sometime soon.  There is more here and there but it is tubed out a bit....I had a 2004 Wrangler with 31" that I DD and wheeled until I built this.....I am pretty new to 4x4 mainly quads before....but this was my first attempt to build anything......just wanted to hang with buddies I wheel with........Currently I need to clean it up and paint it to and repair all the stuff I broke last year nothing too major really few bolts and a couple hours welding but I also need a new tranny but prob will be getting one soon off Pirate.  The tranny I had was in rough shape anyways so it didn't last long......There are some details here and there I need to do really but was thinking about redoing it sometime all depends there never done right?...lol

Elven

Only Place I have wheeled this is private property and Turkey Bay.....Def when funds and time allows I will be up for some wheeling....

Elven

Well I guess Illinois isn't the real active bunch......lol :driving:

Oddmar

Nope...there's just too few trails in Ill-annoys.

And everytime someone new says "Here i am!", they're always 150 miles away, so nobody hooks up to go trail riding anyway.

We are quite close compaired to the people I have been wheelin' with, the Windy City Cruisers and the Hoosier Cruisers. Unfortunately I have only been out with a couple of guys from the Gateway Cruisers once. There is a place in Indiana just across the border off of I64 called Interlake Properties that will be open year round as of August 23rd http://www.in.gov/dnr/outdoor/2930.htm The wife and I will be going there the last weekend in Oct. and the first weekend in Nov. the later date is a scheduled Toys for Tots run. Next weekend we are going to The Badlands in IN. with the Hoosier Cruisers. Oct. 3-4  we will be at Flat Nasty with the Tornado Alley Cruisers and the Gateway Cruisers. A few of the Gateway Cruisers are trying to set up a date for a run to washita in Farmington MO.  http://forum.ih8mud.com/mo-gateway-cruisers/233075-wheeling-dates.html

I spend more time on Ih8mud than here because I can't shut off the pics here and dial up sucks when there are pics on almost every thread. I've litterally waited hours for a single page to load so...

I'm still on stock suspension right now but hopefully I will get my suspension lift done over the winter. Should have 32's on in a couple of days.http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb185/ohsewgood/Flat%20Nasty%20May%202008/HPIM1503.jpg

For right now intermediate trails are as far as I go.

If you need some help sometime just let me know ahead of time I have rotating days off....I work in Centralia...I can maybe get over there my work area here is limited for the time being.....What are you plans for your rig?

Elven

Also there anymore info on Interlake?  types of trails and such?

x factor

Mods are going to be a long time coming due to low funds but, the list includes twin cases, 63" chevys out back, rears up front, 35's, 529 gears, selectable lockers and a roll bar for the bed.

The trails we were on at Interlake were tight technical rolling hill and valley wooded trails. I understand that there is some hard core rock trails there also but we have only been there one time so far so I can't really say to much more than that.
