ive never asked and always wondered the same.
anyone's input would be great.

my thought is it creates more leverage, thus creating more flex? yes....no...?

ya the inboard springs should give more flex first time i seen it done was on marlins f-toy build.

tech201

So i welded on the spring hangers then pulled the axle and springs and removed the very rear crossmember built a new crossmember tacked it in and built the rear shackle hangers.

Thanks for all the good words guys!!   I got some more done today welded in the rear crossmember mounted the rear shackle hanger welded the holes in one end of the shackle and redrilled to 9/16'' started cleaning the axle to mount the new spring pads and found a crack in the axle housing it goes almost halfway around the factory spring pad. so i spent alot of time cutting off the pads drilling the ends of the crack and welding it. and didn't get the axle put back in got tired and went home.
