toyminator2000 – There has to be dumb people in order for there to be smart people
hate the marlin knuckle kit. not even close to being the right size, then after grinding and clearancing, nothings even left to give any support.
44newman what is that tube or hose coming out of your axle next to your shock Mount in pic #3
Marlin's kit kicks ass. Sure you have to grind a bit, but it's worth it. If you're not welding and grinding your rig, you're not really working on it... Enjoy!
Nice setup there Saber! Cool picture too!
Thanks a bunch! I spent some quality time on this one. I cut and rotated the knuckles to achieve a zero deg pinion angle and this kit gives me that extra sense of security that nothing will ever break.
Not to sound like a Nub (although i am to a lot of this), but what is the gusset for? Just extra strength to the ball???military_stang
The toyota housings are strong, but not that strong, especially with big tires, lockers ect. The ends of the axle are the last "weak" link on the solid axle. The gusset is just to add extra strength to the end of the housing so it is less likely to bend under stress. The steering stops are also week when getting hammered by a knuckle with big tires on it. so that strengthens the stop to prevent it from hammering in too far and preventing it from doing its job. Just extra precautions. Tweaking a front housing sucks, beefing it up as much as possible is always a good idea.
