i don't think i can get one in there. on another post, someone had the same issue. ppl recomended he weld a new nut on the old bolt, the heat would also break the bolt loose.

One but he wont have a welder for a few months.

I don't want to bug ppl by asking. I would feel better if one offered.

There's a Harbor Freight in STockton.

Get some cheap 6 sided impact sockets.

That's a plan but i will still need to hit it with an impact, a torch or both. That thing is stuck.

1/2 drive :yesnod:

then tap it on
:yesnod:

impact!!
Don't need it.

Put the bar in the same position & use the starter to break it free. The 6 point socket will make the difference.

If you want to use an impact gun & you have a good compressor & an impact gun you might be able to get it off. You will have to remove the radiator bolts, slide the radiator up & support it, then you will have enough room to get the gun in there. You don't have to drain or remove the radiator hoses to do this.

I tried the starter method and i got nothing. The engine would turn and the breaker bar would stop it. I did it like 8 times and then got under the truck and started kicking the bar with two legs and that's when i striped the head.
Jim, i wont be in your area for a while.

I tried my best to keep it straight, i would reset it before every bump or kick but yeah, at some point it got messed up. But I was surprised the starter couldn't break it free.

the leak that developed on my 81 was due to the seal wearing a grove into the crank. I had to put a "seal saver" onto the crank. then put a new seal into the oil pump. i ordered the felpro kit with the seal saver (only goes on one way!!!). it was much cheaper then buying the seal saver and the OEM oil pump seal separately. thats my  :twocents:

How much did that end up costing?  I think the factory toyota seal and oil pump o-ring are less than $20 and are better quality.

may need to check the balancer where the front seal rides against the balancer shaft. There is a sleeve that is sold that goes on the balancer and covers the groove.

I just positioned the OEM seal so that the lip would be in a slightly different spot.............

(didn't have a groove, but you could tell where the lip was)
