This is just my opinion but I have seen a lot on the trail and I think that they are made of to thin of a material. A lot of them I have seen have been tweaked or bent in one way or another. I also do not like the approach angle with them. Like I said this is my opinion because I like my bumpers high and tight.

x2 on the poor approach angle......plus they are pretty damn heavy if you put a winch on

I had the Warn winch bumper on my 1985 Extra cab for four years. On the top part of the bumper where the hole is cut out for you to see your winch cable it is cut out to small. It is difficult for you to rearrange your cable when it "birdnest" from free spooling or cable stacking on one side because the top of your winch is to covered to much.

I reinforced it it after a year because it flexed to much. It's a good looking bumper but for it weight and price I think there are better out there. The hole opening for the winch really get old fast once you start winching. This is my  :twocents: because i ran the bumper before.

As far as pictures this was before I could afford digital cameras , so there just Kodiak.
Nothing puts a smlie on my face like the green glow of 4x4 on the dash !

I have an old school Warn winch bumper. Like mentioned, there are much better bumpers to choose from these days. Since the yota isn't my trail rig, it's not a big deal to me on arproach angles etc. Not sure how heavy it is, since it came on the truck when I bought it. But, I don't suspect it weighs too much. It does feel much more strudy than I thought it would be (I saw pics of them in mags etc in my 24 years of wheeling, but never remembered seeing one in person).

Over all I'm content with mine for my needs. It sticks out a bit much, and has that "push bar" hang down, so on a serious trail rig, I'd avoid the old school style. But for DD duty, and light trail stuff, it's good enough for me. I've thought about making the "winch mount" a closed in tool box, but have not done so yet. I doubt i will.. as I may perhaps buy a cheap winch for it someday. Anyway, I don't have a great pic of it, but will post what I have. Not a great pic as it was taken with my phone.
