JeepSpeed inspired '84-01 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) with '05+ Tacoma 4WD IFS set-up

I  am in the planning stages of an '84-01 Jeep Cherokee desert racer/pre-runner style build based on the JeepSpeed/SCORE/CORR series (I will be going by the JeepSpeed Cup rule if by any. . .the rig is inspired by these series not necessarily going to compete in any one sereis) and I want to convert the XJ to IFS so I decided that I wanted to use the 4WD IFS front end from an '05-08 Toyota Tacoma 4WD 4-dr/shortbed because it most closely matches the Jeep XJ front trackwidth & curb weight. . .the only problem is that it has been brought to my attention that the Jeep XJ's have a transfer case/differential that is offset to the driver's side while the Tacoma has a centered differential/front driveshaft/transfer case. . .not one to be easily discouraged I figure the easieast solution to the problem (and still be able to use the Toyota front end. . .I like the amount of aftermarket available for the Tacoma's and am thinking of using the Total Chaos uniball long travel system with extended 4130 axles and dual shock hoops) is to use a Toyota tranny and transfer case. . .I originally wanted to use an NV4500 and Atlas transfer case. . .do you have any suggestion for my dilemna. . .remember nothing good ever comes without a little hard work (and/or cash) not to mention creativity/ingenuity!!!

but agreed why put on a suspencion most offraders are ditchin? and that cant be used to compete

a ford ranger or f 150 suspension would be easier, but i agree, if you want ifs, start with it, the xj is simply not a platform that resonds to structural modifications well, mainly because there is no frame
