Heres what's being changed for this spring.  4.7 23 spline gears in rear case have been installed.  Tires have arrived, putting another 5.29 ring and pinion in the front end, building a new t-case crossmember out of 2x2x3/8 square stock.  I hammered my old tube crossmember too hard to trust it to also be a point where my lower links attach to so the inch of lost breakover angle is justified.  Still gotta get new brake lines made and still gotta install rockstomper beadlocks to some steelies I got layin around.  Other than that it's taking me forever to do just this lil bit of work with "real" work taking up most my time.  This is the first time I've owned a trailer so I'll be making alot more wheeling trips this summer than last.

Heres what my pile looks like.

The blown R&P, turns out the carrier bearings let loose and the pinion walked itself all the way inside it, you can see teeth marks near the locker.

The start of the new crossmember.  Will mount and protect the t-case but also be where my lower links attach to.

This is sweet.  My new 16 foot H&H Dovetail!  I fell in love with the Caterpillar Yellow as soon as I saw it.

Thanks guys, I built it with the toughest stuff I could find for the factory toyota gear.  Yukon 5.29's with lincoln in the rear and lock right up front, Long 30 set, Cryo'd inner and outer hub gears, All-pro diff armor front and back, Alcan 1/4 ellip springs, FK 3/4 heim's,1.75 DOM 3/8 wall tubing for links, moved fuel tank to the bed and wrapped it in diamond plate, marlin dual cases with 23 spline 4.7's in rear, John Deere PTO shaft drive shafts,  warn 9500 TI, and that's about all I can think of, oh yeah...Bilstein 7100's front and rear.  I got a Dana 60 front end and a Corp 14 bolt with disc brakes that I'm saving for another project.  I was thinking maybe another Gen 3 or a Tracker.  I like the idea of the tracker just because you don't see em as much.

This is a pic of the back how I did the tank.  It's the stock yota tank that I built a frame for and skinned it with diamond plate.  Turned out pretty slick.

My baby's!  The 60 Front and Corp rear.  I scored a dana 44 front and the corp rear for 300 bucks!  Pulled the discs and calipers off the 44 and sold the housing for 50 bucks.  So I got a corp 14 bolt 10.25 with discs for 250!

I forgot to mention the driveshafts sittin with the 1 ton axles.  Those are the Deere PTO shafts.  Wall thickness is 5/16 and huge amounts of slip travel.  Pulled em, cut and welded the toy flanges back on and threw em in.

Im glad to see you using a pto shaft, their tough.  I wanted to use them but ended up with regular shafts.  I bet you can get them balanced at a d-shaft shop and they wil work better than any d-shaft.   They are desighned to spin at much higher speed in a tractor.
Life is too short!!!   Do something with it!!!

sell me your 14 bolt and 60 for my chevy

Birfailed

can't do that.  I've been looking forever for a decent front end for under a grand.  I'm actually thinking about sling em under a jeep too!

lol...i know i know, jsut wanted to see the reaction.  but how about this?  I can get a gen 2 ifs, not sure of year (86,87,88) somewhere in there for 400 bucks.  Gut it all out, run 205/203 lomax, sm465 or 420, with a small block chevy, runnin to the 60 and 14 bolt.  make it huge as hell and run 44's!  I'm thinking about that too!  Then I could have my 89 as my dedicated crawler, and make this one for mud and general thrashing.  I'd do this one all low budget too.  Except for the axles...I'll spend the money to have the diffs and lockers set up all pro-like ya know.

Alrighty, got it all done.  Sorta.  Front tires rub at full lock...ran the steering stops out all the way and still rubbin.  Gotta space it.  But here it is.  I decided to wait on the beadlocks for now.  This thing is already ridiculously spendy.  The crawl ratio is just about perfect for me (223:1).  I'm gonna see if boggerrunner will make me a wheel spacer kit for me.  I'm gonna take it to my work and lift it with the forklift and see how bad the rear tires are gonna get into the bed.  I'll get pics of flex very soon.
