Ok, it started as a 1984 toyota pickup stock height that my buddy put on its side when it was in his possession. I bought it. I started by putting in some prp race seats and some 5 point harnesses. Then i put some shotty front springs on with big shackles and it gave it about a 4 inch lift up front. well those spring wore out so i bought some...Trail-Gear springs. i bought trail gear because i did not want 4" springs. therefore i bought their 3's. after i put them on i put on some shock hoops and then got some 5150's. i just extended the front drive shaft for the 2nd time. but have not put it on yet because the lift is not complete. i then bought some 3" rear t/g springs and u bolt flip kit along with 5150's for the rear. i plan on installing that stuff this weekend and taking her out for a test run. i am hoping it will ride a lot smoother than stock. i mean i am sure it will. but i put her through hell while she is stock. i really enjoy jumping/going through whoops at a descent speed and i know it is a pain with a solid axle, but she does pretty good with that. any comments or recommendations i would love to hear them. i am also going to start a motor rebuild as well w a newer style 22r. any ideas to make her run great and still be reliable would be great. thanks for looking.

haha i was waitin for that sign. ya ill have pics up shortly. so i put the 3" springs on last weekend. i used the stock rear shackles because i did not want it too tall, but that definetely did not work. after hitting some pretty good chop at like 40 i could hear the shackles hitting the frame, so its back to the drawing board on that. ill probably just make my own. but she rides so much better. it seems like the 5150's work really good too. people give me some feedback...

84solidaxletoy

well as my 84 pickup is still in turtle mode and still undergoing maintenance, i picked up this pretty cool descent daily driver...its got trail-gears up front chevy 63's in the rear, dual shocks up front, full blown lc engineering race 20r, locked in the rear, hankook 33's, custom bed and fuel cell....give me comments and more ideas for it.

shhhh keep this between us...the bedsides are for an 84-88 :) and the front glass i have no idea where previous owner bought them, but i might be ditching them soon, i dont care for bat wings and tires are 33" bought at discount. i am luckily the only one in town who has them so discount tire has 1 33" on hand in the store in the event of a blowout and they are hankook mud terrains and they hook up wonderfully...i am now supporting the true 1st gens

and for black dog here you go, shes very ugly outside, but i have a new cab...shes gonna be blue...

84solidaxletoy

it is full tube all welded to the frame. but above the fuel cell comes off

ah, that would explain why the bed didn't look "quite" right.  Not bad, but something was weird, looking back, the tail corners give it away.

As for your 2nd gen, that cab looks fine!

Micah Pictures! :clap2:

For the first gen, I would find some stock front fenders. The nice thing about the fiberglass bedsides is you can bob and dovetail them fairly easily. I see you are in AZ, so you shouldn't have to worry much about fender laws. I would run the springs until you have a problem with them. Spend your $ elsewhere on the rig or the 84.:twocents: Does it have highsteer? :dunno: Keep the pics coming. :yesnod:

Nice trucks. I like the grey first gen even with the funky front fiberglass.  :twocents:  Not used to seeing mini's so long

i am greatly appreciating all the comments. none of the trucks have high steer, but i really do want it. as for the fenders, if i went stock it would make the front of the truck look like it is shorter than the rear. and i also have ivan stewart fenders for the 84. it is all slowly coming together. i also have an 86 for sale. ext cab and everything. and blackdog. how do you like your monavie?

84solidaxletoy

quite possibly thinking about putting chevy's in the rear of the red one as well. it works great on my 81 and i havent even put shocks on the back yet, and she has been air born quite a few times. if i do i will have these trail-gears for sale, but im sure nobody will want them :)
