Topic: WANTED!!!! 81-85 toy....

MY buddy needs a rig badly.  Hes got 1200 to spend but he wants something that needs work but not much....  Hes moving out to a farm with a 5 mile long driveway and theres 6 creeks that he has to cross just to get home.  he needs something badly... we're willlling to drive 2 hours from sac to check out a truck...

i'm selling my 81 toy p/u 4x4(not the hag...so don't ask ). it's bone stock. runs but has it's problems. i'm asking 1400 obo.

i'm 5 hours from sac and i don't think this is what he is looking for but i'm throwing it out there.

what kind of problems??? does it pass smog???  L-50 or L-52.... I gotta know.... Rust?

the motor hesitates from a stop. the motor chugs(cuts fuel) when you hold the rpm near or at 3000(it's only at a certain rpm). motor mount is broke. you have to fill the gas tank a certain way or it will spill on the ground.
interior is pretty good.
it passes smog...the cert is good for 6 more days before i have to smog it again(the 45 or 90 days is up). i always get worried when i have to smog anything...it's the governments way of taxing air.
i bought a saturn for a commuter(34mpg) so this truck's got to go.
rust...lets just say i live by the beach and the previous owner 4wheeled at pismo. the exterior is sort of a forrest service green(i bought it that way). the undercarage is kinda rusty.
i don't know about the tranny...it's a 5spd i'll check the model tomorrow.

i don't know how confident i would feel selling this to someone i 'know'. it dose have it's problems(i've told you more than i would tell someone off the street) and if yer fine with it i won't feel bad.

well my buddy found a rig for 1000 bucks.  smoggedand everything.  it even has ps and ac.... thanks rich

if you could figure out a way to make me look like im 21 im all for it.  but for a 16 year old like me,  a burger and some dogs on the grill would be cool.  we got prairie city up here and we go every weekend.  its pretty fun..... when your here in sac give me a call and well go wheelin....916-681-8606

i got fooled by yer avirar of homer and duff beer. burgers it is.

i don't know if i'll bring my rig up to sac with me. i'll be living in the dorms at csus and if i can't find a safe place to keep it...it stays home. ben's (rock-starr) street isn't bad but he just got a new house-mate and he put a boat where my rig would of gone.
