cutting torch issue
« on: Jan 18, 2008, 12:20:02 PM »
has anybody here ever had their oxy/acetalyne torch lines freeze or just refuse to flow? its been up to the high teens/low 20's for the high here the past couple days. went out to the garage to try and work on the trailer (tanks not sitting anywhere near a heater) and had no gas flow when i opened the valves.

theres a fair amount of gas in both bottles.

Could it just be the pressure is low because of the tempature? If Acy condences and I thing it does, then the lower the tempature the lower the pressure. Try warming the tank with some warm water and see if it doesn't improve.

think your right. i've had the bottles sitting inside for a couple hours in the house and now it flows just fine. guess i'll need to wrap the bottles in a blanket of some kind while i'm using them.
