This got me thinking... is there a way to make them look all old and rusty without actually causing more than a thin layer of surface ugliness?

I know exactly where that is.. that's one of the better areas right before you get to Florin  You're about 3 miles from me.

That sucks man!  I know everybody thinks people use cordless sawzalls but I know of one tool that's dead quiet and will cut right through exhaust quickly.  I don't think a lot of thieves know about it though.  Making them look rusty won't help either, they only care about the guts.

I heard that they have platinum inside them. Toyotas have more inside them than most larger trucks. So all these low life theiving crackheads target them. Some recyclers are paying as much as 40 to 70 dollars for them. It seems a bit sad that recyclers would pay this with no questions asked or taking down info like D.L#.

I know a guy in San Diego who has been hit several times so on his 4runner he re piped most of the exhaust with a much heavier pipe and within a few weeks he saw where someone had tried to cut it but gave up. For added security he built a cage/skidplate thing that makes it darn near impossible to get the cat out if you cut it,ugly but functional.

Are these guys stealing cats of just toyotas or is it anything that is in high demand?  I currently have an older pathfinder and the board I'm on for that has been quiet about any cat thefts.

What are these guys using, hack saws or cordless grinders?  Wouldn't that set off an alarm if you had one?
I was looking around and someone mentioned a tool like a plumber's snapper, I wouldn't think that would work on anything but cast pipe.
