clutch help please

need help with clutch.

93 pickup 22re
marlin shd clutch and flywheel

I put the clutch on the flywheel with the alignment tool and held the pressure plate up to the flywheel. There is a only enough room to just barely get the bolts started.  I have the clutch disk facing where the part that sticks out is facing back.  am I just supposed to snug the bolts down, or is something wrong?  I don't want to force anything and break it.

yes  the bolts  will pull it down  and  force the  pressure onto the clutch,  this is what  makes the clutch hold so well,  just tighten them  a little at a time till they are all tight

Make sure you criss-cross when tightening the plate other wise it won't set in properly.No clockwise tightening sequence.won't work.......

Just take your time and do it right and you'll love the clutch!  Did you resurface the flywheel?
