i just had a revelation!

i was doing my daily pondering over what transmission i really want to put in my truck(yes, i'm really strange enough to sit around thinking about stuff like that) and something occured to me.  if i ditched the l43, and put in a w56, i would have significantly lowered my 1st gear ratio.  so much that in fact it would essentially be lower than keeping the l43 and going to 4.56s.  this way i can save money on regearing and get a bunch of power back, and be easier on the clutch

here's my comparisons:

4.38s in the axles, 3.67 1st(l43) = 16.07 1st gear
4.56s, 3.67 1st = 16.74 1st
4.38s, 3.95 1st = 17.30 1st

essentially, by going to a w56 tranny, it would feel like i had 4.71s in the pumpkins at least in 1st gear.  very groovy

yep good thinking.  And youll gain the added length in the trans for the front driveline.
