Just think 3 short years ago this was a decently nice stock truck.  Then Shawn caught the wheelin' disease.  First came 35's, skyjacker 5 in. springs all the way around with a high pinion front and V6 rear w/ 5.29's and arb's.  Then he met me.  :_oops:  The truck was pretty darned capable but needed some flexy suspension under it.  So in went 79 caddy rears and new shock towers.

THen we decided that the rear was way too soft so we added 2 stock chevy leaves to the rear packs.  That alone helped even everything out a bunch!

Next up was the Doubler setup but unfortunately I dont have any pics of that.  No worries its just your basic double stock setup.  Nothing custom.....yet.

Shawn took it out for some testing, not too bad but it still needs a bit of work to reach its full potential.

Then Shawn goes wheelin' this last weekend, gets agrivated and decides to take out his aggresion on some poor unsuspecting tree, a rock and his truck!

Now here is the nice side that I get to replace before Goldendale so he has a window on the passenger side again.

And yes yotaboy yet is the key word.  If everything goes as planned this in the next year this will be a new truck.  Body and frame swap.  The plans so far are to use the 81 shortbox frame and either his body or a 90+ x-cab.  With a new front suspension setup.

Not yet I havent had time to send out a official forum memo on that subject yet.

the bed dent on the passanges side was funny rocks (yes the crack again). But the rest was poor driving (wife started bitching as we left the gravel road). I still think I was trying to hit her with the tree on the passangers side. At least she shut up after I hit that tree. We've decided that she isn't going on anymore ride with me. I guess I can put bucket seats back in.

WHITE_TRASH

Well shawn you wanted new pics of the suspension so Pinky and I took the trucks down to the tracks for a photo op.  Lets just say we wont be going back there again for awhile at least. (long story, involves deputies and a very cool hillbilly neighbor that saved our  :moon: 's!)

Heres the other side working.  I need to put bumpstops in the rear!!  The springs are inverting way too much for them to love very long.  Oh yea and the front springs suck  :reg:

Heres shawns new sheetmetal.  I beat the unholy hell out of the fender and made it usable again and beat the bedside back out as good as I could untill the air tank is moved.

Last weekend I found the disadvantage to having the newer wider rearaxle. I was on a tight jeep trail and had to climb trees to make it through a couple spots. Here what my rear tires looked like when we were dont. You've probably already seen the pictures of my smashed in door.

Wow now this is amazing!  This could almost qualify as adding to the buildup, I was begining to think that this was a chit chat thread not a buildup of your truck!

Thats such a nice pic.  It even shows his lack of air due to way too much bark in the beads of those wheels.

I cant remember exactly but the info is on here somewhere.  I think I posted the exact measurements in a thread a long time ago, the title was something about like "what rear springs do I use" or at least something to that effect.
