Topic: Clutch questions

Hey all, I just put the Marlin HD clutch in my '91 4Runner with the 3.4L swap. The swap requires me to use the 3.4L clutch with the 3.0L throwout bearing.

Now after I put in the new clutch, my pedal is REALLY easy to push in now, it hardly takes any effort at all. Before this marlin clutch, I just had a stock Toyota 3.4L clutch in it and the pedal took some effort to push in. Is this normal? Is the pressure plate designed to be easy to depress? Could it be that I installed the clutch dish in backwards?

The only other Toyota truck clutch that I have driven that feels like mine now is my friends '95 4Runner with the stock 3.0L and stock (or general replacement) clutch.

Any help is appreciated.

Somebody else was just saying the same thing within the last couple days.  Said they installed a marlin clutch and it was much softer than the last one.

that should be a good thing....
you should drive my dads 95.
all toyota replacement parts.
and a shimed flywheel.

you barely let off that clutch and it disengages.... thing comes in handy offroad... less slippage and gas needed.
and the pedal is pretty easy to push it.

im guessing with the other stock 3.4 disc.. it was heavy or something...
either way.. you should be fine.

I have one in my Turbo Truck.  The pedal is really light, but you still have good feedback in my opinion.  Also it grabs really hard.  Been running it for a few years and am very pleased.
